6) Ownership: While choosing a photographer, be very careful of hidden expenses. Many photographers will retain ownership of your images and require you to purchase prints solely through them. Some will even offer you proof prints, but not the digital files.

Look for photographers that are selling you their time, talent and the ownership of your images.  Remember these pictures are for a lifetime.

HINT: You should have control of your images at the end of the day. This will most likely require an additional fee, but should be negotiated up front.
